Day 9: Monday, January 13th

Today’s Topic: Integrity

Read Acts 10:1-8 NLT: In Caesarea there lived a Roman army officer named Cornelius, who was a captain of the Italian Regiment. He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God. One afternoon about three o'clock, he had a vision in which he saw an angel of God coming toward him. "Cornelius!" the angel said. Cornelius stared at him in terror. "What is it, sir?" he asked the angel. And the angel replied, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering! Now send some men to Joppa, and summon a man named Simon Peter. He is staying with Simon, a tanner who lives near the seashore." As soon as the angel was gone, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, one of his personal attendants. He told them what had happened and sent them off to Joppa.

Think about this: Here we see the story of a man named Cornelius. He was a faithful man of integrity. One day he had a vision from God. He was given a message for Peter. The next part of this story tells us that when Peter arrived, he had a vision that changed the course of his ministry. God spoke to Peter that the message he carried was not only for the Jews, but also for the Gentiles. Cornelius played a part in the move of the Holy Spirit that was poured out upon everyone in that season. God chose Cornelius because of his faithfulness, and because of his integrity. Not because he was perfect, but because he was a devout, God-fearing man. It may have been God's way of honoring Cornelius for the integrity he had exhibited.

Even when you may not realize it, God sees you. He sees when you walk with integrity. He honors your faithfulness. Just as He used Cornelius, He will use you to fulfill His purpose in the earth. As you pray and fast, stay faithful, and trust that God will reward your efforts in His timing!

Pray this prayer: Dear God, my desire is to live a life of integrity. Reveal to me the adjustments I need to make in order to be used by you. I will stay faithful to what you asked me to do. I trust your plans and your purposes, and I will remain yielded to you in every area of my life.
