Day 19: Thursday, January 23rd
Today's Topic: Marriage & Family
Read Psalm 133:1 CEB: "1Look at how good and pleasing it is when families live together as one!"
Think about this: When families are united together there is nothing stronger. The enemy tries to divide families, because he knows the power they possess. I Peter 5:8-9 TPT says "8Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour. 9Take a decisive stand against him and resist his every attack with strong, vigorous faith…" When it comes to our marriages and families, we need to constantly be on guard against the attacks of the enemy. We take a stand against him by staying united.
Don’t allow anything to separate you from your spouse. Be vigilant to protect your relationship. When strife and division try to creep in, determine to be closer than ever. Forgive quickly, and don’t harbor unforgiveness in your heart. Pray with your spouse, read the Word together, and strengthen your relationship by drawing closer to God together.
If you aren't married and have a desire to be, take a few minutes today to pray for your future spouse and marriage. That it would be centered on God and strong enough to stand against any attacks of the enemy.
Pray this prayer: Dear God, I come to you today in prayer for my marriage and my family. Help me to be aware of when the enemy is coming in to try to destroy what you have put together. Keep our relationship strong with you in the center. As we grow closer to you, bring us closer to one another!
An extra challenge: If you are married, take five minutes to pray with your spouse today. Ask God to stregthen your marriage and continue to work in your life together. If you are still believing for a spouse, take those five minutes to pray for your future marriage.
